PHOTO: Washington City Paper Quotes Me, and mispells my name…

Take a look at that picture. People must think I’m an authority on black culture. Hardly the case. I’m not much of an authority on anything. I know my books. I know tennis. I know a bit about myself. And I know people. I watch them continuously. They often appear glorious to me. Other times they appear stupid.

But whatever. I suppose I have to be nice. After all, ‘people’ are my audience :)

Earmilk Review of Action Bronson’s Blue Chips

About a week ago I wrote this review of Action Bronson’s new mixtape, Blue Chips, which is a collaboration with fellow Queens musician Party Supplies. The tape is pretty exciting, and features some samples I may never be familiar with. I know there’s a Dean Martin sample on “9-24-11″, but then again, that one was rather obvious. If someone knows the sample on “103 And Roosy” I would love to know.

Check out the review here via Earmilk, or check out an excerpt after the break :)

Track of the Week for RESPECT. Mag

HST would systematically disown any article or story that was tampered with by editors. I am not quite at that point yet. So I bring to you my RESPECT. Mag Track of the Week: “9-24-11″ by Action Bronson. The record is off his new Blue Chips project, a collaboration with fellow Queens musician Party Supplies. Action delivers some pretty weighty lines over a sick Dean Martin sample. Even my parents refuse to like Dean Martin. What on Earth is Action doing listening to him?

Check out my Track of the Week article via the RESPECT. Mag website :)
